Dragon Age: Inquisition

Set to release in fall 2014, Dragon Age: Inquisition is a cross-platform (not to mention cross-gen) fantasy RPG from BioWare. The third installation boasts an open world that’s being compared to Skyrim’s, the Frostbite 3 engine, more tactically-oriented combat and playable Qunari.

Some great concept art has hit the web via Matt Rhodes, Lead Concept Artist at BioWare (Tumblr). He unveiled the art this month at PAX Prime in Seattle, Washington.

Rhodes mixes hyper-realistic backdrops with more sparsely drawn characters to evoke a sense of the epic without the loss of intimacy. Forests, deserts, castles and swamps abound–if the story in these scenes is any indicator, we’ll have a culturally diverse lore-venture to rival even the most sensitive side quest in Dragon Age: Origins.

Dragon Age: Inquisition will release for the Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and PC. The full gallery of images can be best viewed over at Gamespot.
